He is currently getting “ten notifications every ten seconds” on Twitter, and is attempting to fight back. “I didn’t take any consideration because of my lack of World War Two knowledge,” he says. “I don’t think I could ever take it off at this point, it’s so ingrained into my character, my fursona.”Īfter Foxler’s tweet of his picture went viral, he was quickly branded a “Nazi furry”. Foxler says he first began wearing the armband – which features a paw print in place of a swastika – after he dropped out of high school and started playing the online role-playing game Second Life, in which the band was available as a character accessory. “It’s obviously not a swastika,” claims Foxler – who also insists his furry name is a portmanteau of “Fox” and his real surname, “Miller”, not “Hitler”, as many online argue. The subreddit r/femboy describes itself as “A subreddit for the appreciation of feminine boys, androgynous people, enbies, trans people, and the like.” This behavior may be exhibited part of the time, or all of the time.” It also notes that being a femboy doesn’t necessarily correlate with one’s sexual orientation, that femboys are often bigender, and that they are often the subject of gay furry pornographic art. However, this person will often present himself in a very feminine manner. The Urban Dictionary definition posits that “A femboy is a person, typically under the age of 30 years, who is biologically male. The website defines the term as “ (noun): feminine boy, especially a cisgender boy.” More broadly, femboy can describe people who are gender non-conforming in various ways. The term is sometimes used and interpreted as a slur and can be used offensively to invalidate and put down trans people. It can also be considered a positive attribute or compliment, or even be fetishized. In some cases, it is merely descriptive in referring to a boy or man whose gender presentation includes elements usually associated with femininity. There are different usages and interpretations of the term femboy depending on context and the intentions of the person using it.
